Exactly two years after France hoisted the FIFA World Cup as Champions in Russia, the world’s governing body FIFA has released the schedule for the 2022 edition of the World Cup.
Four matches will be played each day during the group stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, with this particular stage going on for 12 days to allow all teams equal rest days between the games.
Matches are yet to be allocated any particular venues until the final draw in March 2022 but the hosts Qatar to kick off 2022 tournament at Al Bayt Stadium, a 60,000-capacity arena.
The first two rounds of the group stages will kick-off at 1 pm, 4 pm, 7 pm and 10 pm (East African Time) while Kick-off times in the final round of group games and knock-out round matches will be at 6 pm and 10 pm.
The opening match will be played on Monday 21st November 2022 at Al Bayt Stadium while the final shall happen on Sunday, 18th December at the 80,000-seater Lusail Stadium in Doha at 6 pm.
