COVID19: Stanbic Bank William Street Closed After Staff Member Tests Positive

The management of Stanbic Bank has moved to temporarily close their William Street branch after one of its personnel tested positive for the Coronavirus.

According to the statement, the case was confirmed amongst the results released today by the Ministry of health and the person is currently receiving treatment. The bank has further confirmed that all exposed colleagues in the branch are undergoing tests and have been advised to self-quarantine for 14 days.

“While contact tracing and testing are underway, Stanbic William Street Branch has been temporarily closed to avoid any possible further spread of infection and will be reopened once we have performed enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols in accordance with standard operating procedures,” reads the statement.

They have gone forth to advise their customers to use their digital banking platforms including internet banking, USSD *290#, and our banking app where possible, and for those who need actual personnel service to use the Nakivubo and Aponye Mall branches.

According to today’s statistics, Uganda has registered 3 more deaths of COVID19 bringing the total to 25 and 64 more positive cases, bringing the cumulative total of cases to 2,426 while 1,267 people have so far recovered.
