Another Stanbic Bank branch in Kampala has been closed.
The management of Stanbic Bank Uganda has confirmed that one of its staff members at the Metro branch in Kampala has tested positive for the coronavirus and owing to that fact, the branch has been temporarily closed.
The employee is said to be undergoing treatment presently while all the other staff members have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days while they get tested too.
The branch has been closed off to public access and will now be to only the officials from the Ministry of Health officials so that they can disinfect the premises. Stanbic Bank management says they will only open the branch again once they have received a disinfection certificate from the Ministry Of Health.
They have gone forth to advise their customers to use their digital banking platforms including internet banking, USSD *290#, and our banking app where possible, and for those who need actual personnel service to use the Crested Towers Corporate branch and the Graden City branch on Garden City Mall.
The Stanbic Metro branch is the second branch in Kampala to be closed after a positive case was recorded among staff after the William Street branch was temporarily closed three days ago.
According to today’s statistics, Uganda has registered 77 more positive cases(47 from Kampala alone), bringing the cumulative total of cases to 2,756 while 1,288 people have so far recovered.
