Ahead of the resumption of school across the country, the national COVID19 taskforce wants to have all teachers tested before they can attend to any students.
Although it seems sensible, the ministry of education and sports says the proposal is very much unlikely and unachievable.
The ministry cites the financial irregularities that many teachers wouldn’t be able to foot the bills if they are coming right out of lockdown. Also, they say it is unlikely that the ministry of health will cover the costs.
This comes after President Museveni, in his latest address to the nation, said finalists in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions would resume studies in October.
