The Ministry Of Finance joins the National closed-circuit television (CCTV) command centre and Police Headquarters in Naguru as the latest institutions recently temporarily closed after the emergence of positive cases among staff.
In a statement released today, Ministry Of Finance Permanent Secretary Keith Muhakanizi has urged the staff to take extra care of themselves and regularly monitor their conditions. This was after the ministry registered 21 positive cases.
“I hereby advise that the ministry will continue to undertake meetings using online capabilities. Please note that I have instructed security personnel to ensure that uninvited visitors should be prepared to present COVID19 certificates,” said Keith Muhakanizi.
Last evening, AIGP Asan Kasingye confirmed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus and was following all guidelines from the health personnel. Owing to that revelation, Police Spox Fred Enanga said that the police headquarters and CCTV Command center would be closing temporarily to disinfect the force.
It has been revealed that each CCTV unit has 20 permanent police officers, with the entire command center having about 200 employees who are on a building with over 800 personnel.
Mass staff testing is the next logical step for both the police and ministry of finance.
