Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mr. Simon Peter Kandole has overseen the closure of a large part of Kapchorwa Hospital after over 19 staff tested positive with the coronavirus.
The closure of several departments is in effect starting today as advised by the medical superintendent.
Only the laboratory, maternity ward, and theatre shall remain partially open to cater to emergencies but the pharmacy, female ward, children’s ward, outpatient department, chronic care and the male ward.
According to the hospital administrator Mr. Edward Chelangat, 19 staff out of 59 have tested positive and this prompted the closure of the hospital to the club.
