The Ministry Of Health has today reported that a further 124 have tested positive for the Coronavirus, which takes the total of confirmed cases in the country to a solid 3,900.
Of the 124, 13 are health workers which continues a worrying trend for the country that is seeing more health personnel test positive for the virus. Apac registered 3 health workers testing positive while Lira reported 2. Hoima, Tororo, Masaka, Kikuube, Oyam, Jinja, Gulu, and Kasese districts reported one case each.
105 contacts and alerts were recorded in the last 24 hours with Kampala alone responsible for 37 cases. Wakiso and Kitgum reported 15 and 11 cases respectively. 4 returnees and 2 truck drivers complete the new statistics.
Two COVID19 deaths were registered, a 53-year old male from Pallisa and a 56-year-old male from Jinja district, bringing the total number of deaths to 46. May their souls rest in peace.
A total of 1,817 have so far recovered from the virus.
