With the COVID19 worldwide guidelines advising against crowds, Colombia is no exception. Though, Reverend Father Luis Carlos Ayala might have found a way around it.
Fr. Carlos Ayala conducted mass from the stage inside a drive-in cinema in Chia municipality, with hundreds of people gathering for the prayers for a drive-in Mass near the Colombian capital Bogota on Sunday, and worshipped from the safety of their vehicles amid coronavirus concerns.
Colombia has been on lockdown since March and is not showing any signs of changing that.
Worshippers did so from the comfort of their cars, while they listened to Fr. Carlos. Some chose to open their car doors and venerate whenever they were required too. At the time of Holy Communion, the priest moved around the space which had room for 300 vehicles.
