Serial litigant and city lawyer Male Mabirizi is back in the news with Presidential aspirant Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine on the receiving end of the lawyers legal jabs.
Male Mabirizi, whose case against the Attorney General for removal of the age limit, is before the East African Court of Justice shocked the Public yesterday, the 10th day of August 2020 when he petitioned the Secretary of the Electoral Commission for certified copies of nomination academic papers of Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi who in a bye-election conducted by the same Commission in 2017 emerged as the people’s choice for the Kyadondo East Constituency.

In his letter, Counsel Male Mabirizi alleges that it is nothing but questionable for Bobi Wine to assert that he was born in 1982, sat A-level in 1998 at 16 years, O-level at 13, Primary Leaving Exams at 9 and joined Primary 1 at 2 years. Male Mabirizi further states that the only remedy to his doubts is availing him with certified academic documents of the Presidential aspirant after all under Section 4 (3) (c) of the Parliamentary Elections Act of 2005, proof of completion of A-level or its equivalent is a prerequisite for one to stand as a Member of Parliament.

This comes shortly after renown Journalist and founder of the Independent Magazine Andrew Mwenda’s declaration of interest in contesting against Hon. Robert Ssentamu for the Chairmanship of the National Unity Platform, a move that many have seen as dramatic.
