After months of pause, owing to the Coronavirus pandemic and the government pandemic, the government has resumed the installation of Closed Circuit TV Cameras.
According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, installations to be done are of 2,300 cameras in 15 municipalities across the country to include, Jinja, Mbarara, Kumi, Kitgum, and Arua.
CCTV Cameras were installed in the first place after a Presidential directive to help law enforcement agencies fight crime, and 3,233 cameras were installed, although a number were vandalized due to road works in the Kampala Metropolitan area.
